Hey everyone. This is just a friendly reminder for everyone to never give someone your steam login information!

Recently it has come to our attention that a user by the name of Priceflash was attempting to bait players into "free admin". Not only is this impossible, but giving someone your steam information would seriously pose a security risk to your account. Your account could be stolen, lost forever.

If anyone receives messages like this, I urge you to immediately take a screenshot and contact Steam Support.

Thanks,
SammyServers Staff

Watch out for fake steam websites as well, they are getting craftier. I heard they will make a fake steam account and make it look like one of your friends (Picture and information) and tell you to visit a site.

TL;DR: If you get a friend request from someone already on your friends list, investigate.

I had one that was like, steamcommunity.a.com, they took the source code(im assuming) from the steam site and put it on theirs, complete with login and everything.

Phishing the Steam site and faking a form to store into a .txt would take anyone with half a brain 5 minutes. Those who fall for such links deserve to have their accounts stolen, imo.

A simple way to know if you are on the real steam is the icon next to the web address.
If it is a Green lock that has "Valve Corporation [US]" (This only appears when not logged in, for some reason.) Written next to it.

You're retarded.

The icons refer to the web protocol being used. http/https. If it's a VeriSign, or other highly recognised SSL certificate, there'll be a green bar, such as paypal.

Yes, but are you really losing any money if your account on Youtube gets hacked? i doubt anybody famous enough to worry about it are that stupid. If you lose your steam account, you are losing money, if i lost my steam account, i would be down about $300.

It's perfectly easy to understand people when they use proper english and explain themselves.

Your post above is just outright wrong, so do as all a favour and just admit you were wrong, and learn from your mistake.

I know i am wrong. I posted that thinking that "it's only gonna be a few hours until somebody tells me i'm stupid and i know nothing at all". I just wanted to contribute to the topic. i hate seeing a topic and just not having a reason to post. I don't really feel like i post enough, to be honest. I was also wondering how fast i would be told flat out that i am wrong. Usually people either hint at it, or start a flame war, which is not necessary for one Incorrect / Stupid answer.
