Just because you paid for admin doesn't mean that you're exempt from losing it. If you're an idiot and don't follow these rules, you can lose your admin privileges.
Be smart, do your communication through written chat. What you type can be pointed to in logs later on. Being clear on what you are, or were doing will greatly help your cause in the event of an abuse report.
Useful Admin Console Commands
- bind <"key"> <"command"> example1: bind F6 "+ASS_menu", example2: bind mouse5 "+spectatemenu"
- "+ASS_menu" will bring up the main admin menu.
- "+spectatemenu" will bring up a menu that allows you to watch people without their knowledge.
- "playerid" will tell you everyone's RP names and Steam ID's.
- "status" will tell you everyone's Steam names and Steam ID's.
- "ass_who" will tell you everyone's RP names, steam ID's, and true rank

- For a complete list, see Commands cheat sheet
- Use Kicks as a warning, except in extreme cases.
- If you think somebody should be banned, then notify a Level 4 admin, or post in the Bans forum.
- If kick does not help, try other methods, such as silencing the player (which, in turn, disables the player from changing job, buying any equipment, etc), or jailing the player.
- Use intelligent judgement. Be sure to investigate a situation before kicking.
Its important to let the punishment fit the crime. Remember that everything you do is recorded to logs, and can be brought up at a later point.
Learning the commands you have available is an important step in avoding the troublemakers from getting on your nerves.
Disable a player from talking instead of creating a raged conversation. Disable a player from playing instead of creating a RDM-fest.
If problems pile up, don't be afraid to seek help from other admins. Avoid losing self-control. Raging out as admin is not healthy for you or the server.
Everybody has bad days. In the event of having one, take a breather, disconnect, relax until self-control is restored, instead of disrupting and ruining the fun for innocent players.
Don't disrupt players roleplaying
The goal is to keep the gameplay going without disruptions. Don't publically display ragdolled or jailed rule-breakers. Even if they are idiots.
Use the admin rooms to discuss cases.
Keep the public channels clear and free of raged flame wars.
Do your best to avoid noclipping in or through public spaces. Even if you have a justified reason to noclip.
Don't spawn anything that you normally wouldn't be able to do as a normal player, unless you have really good reason to.
Please bear in mind that this is a roleplaying server, not a building server. Lagging the server should be avoided at all cost. Avoid spawning lamps, lights, ragdolls, vehicles (custom-made, or standard ones),
or using physics-intensive creations if you can, and definitely if the server starts lagging.
Weapon spawning is by default blocked for everybody.
However, level 4's are given means to spawn some weapons during controlled events (and only for the duration of such events).
Any other form of weapon spawning will be considered glitch abusing, with everything that entails.
Don't use god mode unless you have a legitimate reason. You should only be using this while in the Admin job.
Don't ever use god mode while roleplaying.
When you get admin, your physics gun will now move other people's props, as well as the players themselves. Your toolgun will work on all props.
Never ever pick up or move another player without a legitimate admin reason.
Never ever pick up, move, nor edit another player's props without a legitimate admin reasons.
All jobs that have a single slot (mayor, gang boss, cp chief, and any future one-slot job) should never be no-voted into.
Job-forcing (rp_[job]) should never be used to give yourself a job past job limit, or to give yourself a one-slot job like described above.
Job forcing command (rp_[job]) should only be used in admin-related actions, such as rectifying random demotes.
Use of admin class
All admins may use admin class to deal with ongoing issues, with no imposed restriction on limit.
Furthermore, admins may select one admin to be "on-duty" if necessary.
Only one admin among the ranks of "admin", and "superadmin" may be "on-duty" at any given time.
However, as level 4's often deal with tasks beyond those of regular admins and superadmins, level 4's do not have a restriction on amount of "on-duty".
Regardless of rank, admin class should never be used in roleplaying circumstances, to build, or break any other associated rule (such as no-clipping across the map without purpose).
In short, admin class is to be used for business only.
Remember that this is a roleplaying server
Unless dealing with a specific case, you should be roleplaying like everybody else.
When you do roleplay, roleplay by the book. As admin, you are still restricted by the same rules guests are. Become an example to follow, not an example to avoid.
Try your best to keep the game fun, fair, and balanced for everybody.
When to use no-clip
- Investigating a quick complaint (don't have to be in admin job)
- Investigating anything while in admin job (such as investigating prop blocks)
- Building (one of the perks for being admin)
to use no-clip
- Recreational travels around the map
- Roleplaying reasons
- Getting in or out your house
- Spying on opponents
- Checking out a base defenses, or valuables, including looking for weapons or money printers
- Escaping from pursuers
Using noclip in any roleplaying circumstance except building is restricted.
Basically, just use good judgement. We don't want to see people just flying around for no reason.
Like mentioned here
, noclipping should be avoided in public spaces.
Only level 4 or above may create events.
These events may not disrupt players who wish to continue to roleplay, and as such, must occur only within controlled, blocked off sections or quarters of the map.
While hosting an event, the host may spawn various types of weapons for use in the event only, and any such weapons must be removed from all participants before the event is concluded.
Obey your superiors & respect each other
Treat someone the same way you want to be treated, with respect.
If someone of higher authority tells you to do something, do it. That of course includes orders to stop what you are doing.
Even though admins that have the same rank as you technically don't have any influence over you, it's best to listen to what seasoned admins have to say, as they have far more experience than you.
Don't argue with each other. We're all on the same team! If you must question another admin's actions, do so through pm's. Don't create a bad public image by calling the admin out publicly.
Never, ever override another admin without talking to that admin first and getting that admin's approval.
If in conflict, ask the other admin for a private conversation, to clear up the conflict through a civilized, calm conversation. Admin rooms serve well for this purpose.
Do not touch any of the cvars, variables in the RP admin menu, ASSMod settings, FPP Settings, or any other settings. Ever
Attempts at doing so is logged. If you disagree with our settings, the forum
is the place to discuss them.
Except for owners, nobody is immune. Absolutely every single one of us, admin or guest, is tied to the rules listed.
It really does not matter if you are level 4 or regular admin, if you've been with us for years or just joined.
Nobody is exempt from the rules. Do not make the mistake of thinking you are too cool or important to be bound by the rules we have.
